Harvest 2007

Harvest it’s finished and the rapport it’s very similar to the 2006 one.

We’ve collected 8% less black grapes and 10% less white grapes than last year.

The end of the summer was raining a lot, this fact has no direct effect on this year’s harvest but it will be very positive for next year as the vineyards have still functional leaves and it stores reserves for next sprouting.

In our labor to innovate, this year we have tried again a green prunning system that has given very effective results. This system consists in use a sheep herd.

The grapes don't have glucose and that's the reason why the sheeps and goats don't eat them and only eat the grapevine leaves that are around the grapes and it helps to their insolation. Using this system, we can not use insecticides in our vineyards.

Our vineyards are planted with an aproximate density of 3000 stumps per hectare and we’ve obtained the following quantities:

Winter 2007
The winter just Started, it’s the stump resting time. The vineyards without leaves are waiting for spring time. For vinegrowers it’s winter prunning time.
The prunning system is very important, it is necessary to ensure next harvest. With the prunning system we can decide how will be our next harvest. If we decide to leave
more or less outbreaks in the stump that will become vines we can define the next harvest.

During winter, several herbst are growing in the vineyards and are the perfect place for birds for over-wintering.

The new wines
The new vintages will have a very good quality. The white wines will be very powerful in terms of fruit flavour and the red wines will have a good structure and deep colour.
